Take the A2 to the Magdeburg junction. Then take the A14 towards Halle as far as the "Magdeburg-Sudenburg" exit. Continue on the B81 towards Halberstadt, from there follow the B79/B81 in the direction of Wernigerode. On the A36 take the Towards Wernigerode and Goslar as far as the "Wernigerode-Nord" exit (not as far as the "Wernigerode-Zentrum" exit).
Coming from Hanover
Take the A2 to the Braunschweig-Nord junction. Then take the A391 to the Braunschweig-Südwest junction. Continue on the A39 to the Braunschweig-Süd junction. Take the A36 towards Goslar / Bad Harzburg as far as the Vienenburg junction. Follow the A36 to the "Wernigerode-Nord" exit.
Coming from Nuremberg
Take the A9 to the Schkeuditzer Kreuz junction. Then take the A14 towards Magdeburg as far as the Bernburg exit. Then take the A36 in the direction of Wernigerode / Goslar / Braunschweig as far as the "Wernigerode Nord" exit (not "Wernigerode-Zentrum").
Coming from Frankfurt
Take the A7 to Seesen / Harz. Then continue on the B6 to Goslar. Now follow the B6 towards Bad Harzburg and Wernigerode until you reach the A369. From the "Vienenburg" junction, follow the A36 to the "Wernigerode Nord" exit.
Arrival in Wernigerode
Follow the B244 in the direction of Elbingerode until the signs "P Gothisches Haus" lead you directly to us. If your car has a navigation system / GPS, please enter "Klint or Oberpfarrkirchhof" as the destination street.

Is a visitor's tax levied in Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains?
In Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains, a visitor's tax of €3.50 per overnight stay and person liable to pay is levied – including VAT. This tax is used to promote tourist infrastructure and offers in the region. However, there are options for a reduction as well as exceptions to the obligation to pay.
For example, persons who are staying in Wernigerode exclusively for the purpose of work or vocational training, children up to the age of 6, severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of 100 and their accompanying persons are not liable to pay, provided they are required to be accompanied at all times according to the official ID.
