Usedom with a dog: 
Head to the Baltic Sea with your four-legged friend.

During the peak season, dogs are only permitted on the designated dog beaches. Between the piers at Heringsdorf and Bansin, and just a half-hour’s walk from the A-ROSA Hotel Heringsdorf, there is a well-maintained sandy beach about 150 metres long where your four-legged friend can have a wonderful time running about. Beach chair hire is also available, and facilities such as a kiosk, a toilet and dog waste bags are provided. Other dog-friendly beaches near the ‘Kaiserbäder’ are located in Ahlbeck and Bansin.

In the low season, all beach access points are open to dogs, although they must be kept on a lead.

Forest paths beneath your feet, the Baltic Sea air in your nostrils and your most faithful companion by your side: Usedom is the perfect place for exploring together. Amidst coastal woods, tranquil lakes and the Achterwasser, varied trails wind their way through the island’s natural landscape. Sometimes right by the sea, sometimes through the peaceful hinterland.

Hike from one seaside resort to the next: starting from Heringsdorf, you and your four-legged friend can walk along soft, sandy woodland paths, past Lake Wolgast and over the Zirowberg viewing hill to Ahlbeck. On the way back, during the off-season you can stroll along the beach or, at any time of year, along the promenade.

Even away from the coast, Usedom has plenty to offer. A lovely destination for a day out with your four-legged friend is the 16th-century moated castle of Mellenthin. A coffee roastery, distillery and brewery lend the castle its delightful character, whilst all around, small farms selling regional produce invite you to explore.

Combine your visit with a short walk around the castle. This way, a combination of indulgence and exercise makes for a few particularly lovely hours in Usedom’s hinterland.

Together, you can stroll through the imperial seaside resorts, past magnificent villas and historic piers, with the Baltic Sea always close by. Between Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck, your four-legged friend will accompany you along one of Usedom’s most beautiful walking routes. You’ll always be surrounded by fresh sea air, fine sand and plenty of opportunities to take a break and enjoy the panoramic views.

A little trip to a completely different world: at the Bansin Tropical Zoo, exotic animals, colourful birds and extraordinary encounters await. And best of all: your four-legged friend is welcome to join you on your tour. This makes a visit to the zoo a wonderful way to spend a day out together, and afterwards you might even fancy a stroll through Bansin or along the Baltic Sea.
