Kühlungsborn with a dog:
Where your holiday together begins.
Kühlungsborn is the perfect place for a break with your dog. Between the Baltic Sea beach, the coastal woodland and extensive walking trails, there’s something new to sniff out and discover every day. Designated dog-friendly beaches are perfect for letting your dog run wild by the sea, whilst in the off-season you can also enjoy long walks along the beach together.
From the A-ROSA Hotel Kühlungsborn, you can set off straight away on relaxing strolls along the promenade, through the town woodland or to the pier. And if you’re planning a day out, you and your four-legged friend can discover the most beautiful parts of the Baltic Sea coast together.
Things to do in Kühlungsborn with your dog.

To the beach.
For four-legged guests, too, the beach is simply part and parcel of any holiday. During the peak season, from 1 May to 31 October, designated dog beaches are available for this purpose. On beach sections 1, 12–13 and 28, dogs can run, play and explore the sea to their heart’s content. In addition, dogs on a lead are permitted throughout the entire beach area between 8.00 pm and 8.00 am.
In the off-season, from 1 November to 30 April, walks on the beach become even more unrestricted: dogs are then welcome on all sections of the beach.

Kühlungsborn Pier.
Right on the doorstep of the A-ROSA Kühlungsborn lies one of the seaside resort’s landmarks: the pier. Take your dog out onto the waves – breathing in the fresh Baltic Sea air, with sweeping views across the sea and Kühlungsborn behind you. Perfect for a quick stroll together in between other activities. For a longer walk, you can then continue along the promenade before returning to the hotel.

A walk along the beach to Lake Riedensee.
Together with your dog, you’ll walk westwards along the beach at Kühlungsborn to Riedensee. Over a distance of around 5 kilometres each way, you’ll be accompanied by views of the Baltic Sea, the sound of the waves and fresh sea air as you make your way to one of the region’s most unspoilt coastal landscapes. At Riedensee, the Baltic Sea, the beach and unspoilt nature come together, making it a lovely destination for a long walk together.
Depending on your pace , you should allow around 2.5 to 3 hours for the round trip.
Important to note when planning your trip: walking the entire length of the beach with a dog is only permitted during the off-season, from 1 November to 30 April.

A trip to Wismar.
Just under an hour’s drive away, Wismar awaits with its historic gabled houses, Gothic brick architecture and maritime charm. The old town is a delight to explore on foot with your dog: from Wismar’s market square through the historic streets to St Nicholas’ Church and on to the Old Harbour. There, old warehouses, ships and the Baltic Sea air make for a lovely end to your walk together.
Our tip: Allow around two to three hours for your walk through Wismar – with a few short breaks, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the Hanseatic town at a leisurely pace.
